Dom Perignon
I experienced my first taste of Dom Perignon approximately a year ago and since then have sampled a few of the different vintage varieties including 1990, 1992 and 1996. I find that this is one of my favourite champagnes but most of the time to save for a special occasion! Although fairly expensive I believe that with champagnes you get what you pay for and it’s well worth the extra cost. When poured, Dom Perignon Champagne is a very pale golden straw-like colour.
Upon the first sip you experience a mellow taste that further develops into fruity notes of apple and citrus along with an acidity helped by a good concentration of bubbles. Overall a very smooth but intense flavour that comes highly recommended! I found a good selection of Dom Perignon available through Fine Wine Sellers, especially the gift boxed items – perfect for a last minute gift idea!
